Producing a sustainable Small Town Strategy |
Welcome to the central section of the SusSET ‘Small Town Strategy’.
Our circle, or wheel, diagram illustrates our principal recommendation that your own small town strategy should contain a range of components reflecting the 3 key aspects of ‘sustainable development’ – social, economic and environmental.
Each of these aspects contains 6 distinct components that overlap and complement one another.
We recommend that your strategy either:
(i) has a central vision that radiates out into the components, or
(ii) is built up from the components into a coherent whole.
Note that although your town will have its own emphasis upon different components depending upon circumstances, we still suggest that each component plays a part in your overall ‘jigsaw’.
How your strategy all comes together is what we term a ‘Whole Town Strategy’.
