Definition of theme |
Transport and its related infrastructure are responsible for the movement of people and goods. Private car ownership in Europe has grown increasingly over recent decades. Investment in transport and its related infrastructure is now a major national priority in every country. The focus of this theme is much wider than just the private car. It includes the local, regional and national connections made by air, sea, public transport, pedestrians and cyclists as well (see ‘Networks and Connections’ component).
